An In-depth Look at Smart FixOne of the most exciting features in our recent Version 2013 release is Smart Fix XML validation in XMLSpy. While the XMLSpy validator has always been powerful, the new Smart Fix functionality takes XML editing to a whole new level with automatic correction of errors with a single click. The XMLSpy XML validator supports document- or project-wide validation with a nine-tabbed message window that provides detailed information about each validation error. This includes the reason for the error, a hotlink to the error location, links to the corresponding definition in the associated schema, and links to any relevant W3C specifications. In addition to information about the error, Smart Fix now offers one or more valid solutions for fixing it, which you can review and then implement with one click. Smart Fix provides built-in intelligence for fixing most validation errors, including unmatched end tags, incorrect sequencing of elements, missing elements, or common datatype errors. If you haven't had a chance to experience Smart Fix yet, it's worth a look. See some examples of Smart Fix in action and learn how it can save you time and frustration when troubleshooting validation issues. UModel and MetaTeam Tag Team Business ProcessesYou may not immediately think of UModel, Altova's software modeling tool, and MetaTeam, our new cloud-based team management and project collaboration tool, working together. However, using BPMN support in UModel to visualize the processes in a MetaTeam team is so natural its almost like UModel acts as a diagrammatic front-end to MetaTeam. In this article, we create a simple IT team that includes Developer and QA roles. Then, in UModel, we model the business process followed for getting a software release ready for GA. Hyperlinks between the UModel project and MetaTeam allow for seamless workflow, and UModel's HTML project documentation rounds out the MetaTeam Knowledge Base.
